With the aim of contributing to the awareness and visibility of the potential of Gender and Diversity Perspective Budgets (PPGyD) and budget analysis from this approach, we have prepared this material, which includes basic budget concepts and some tools to introduce the analysis of public funds in the Province of Mendoza.
We have organized the material into six chapters. The first provides a brief overview of the implementation of gender-responsive budgets in Argentina. The second presents key indicators of gender gaps in Mendoza. The third identifies concrete tools for analyzing the provincial budget. The fourth covers basic concepts regarding the province’s revenues, expenditures, and financing in recent years. The fifth reviews key milestones in the creation of the current Gender and Diversity Directorate and analyzes its budget. Finally, the sixth chapter proposes ten possible work strategies for implementing a gender-responsive budget in Mendoza.
