
As part of its usual media operations in favor of the official narrative, Los Andes newspaper attempted to discredit a study by researchers from UNCuyo. The study demonstrates that the provincial treasury has accumulated budget surpluses large enough to double the salaries of all public sector workers without jeopardizing public finances.
“Clearly, the government has no interest in revealing such a substantial surplus, as it was built on a significant reduction in the wages of those who actually uphold the rights provided by the state,” responded experts from the Center for Research in Critical Economics (CIEC), from the fields of Economics and Sociology.
