As seen in the report “Contributions for the 2022 Collective Bargaining Discussion in Mendoza”, the provincial government had a surplus of $35 billion in 2021. This substantial amount represents no less than 14% of the total expenditures actually made. Such a large surplus is striking in itself, but it becomes even more significant in the context of the health and social crisis the province is currently facing. Given this situation, we ask: Where did these funds come from? Where did they go? Who has been affected by the decision not to use them?
