The importance of the education system seems to be one of the few points of agreement among the various political discourses. However, the true commitment to solving an issue does not lie in the words dedicated to it but in the amount of resources allocated to it. Therefore, in this study, we aim to analyze how the funding assigned to the education system has evolved under recent governments to understand its actual significance.
To achieve this, we have structured the report into eight sections. First, we will examine the evolution of national educational investment between 2005 and 2021. Second, we will analyze per-student educational investment and its changes over the 2015-2021 period. Third, we will study the public funds allocated to privately managed educational institutions. Fourth, we will assess the year-over-year evolution of educational investment between the third quarter of 2021 and the third quarter of 2022. Fifth, we will analyze the evolution of teachers’ salaries from 2015 to 2022. Sixth, we will highlight territorial heterogeneity through an educational salary map. Seventh, we will delve into educational investment in the province of Mendoza during the years 2015-2023. Eighth, we will connect the findings from the previous sections with the recent results of the Operativo Aprender 2022.
