On February 15, 2024, the Government of Mendoza presented its 2024-2030 Health Plan. Following a thorough analysis, it proposes nine general objectives and thirteen strategic lines of action. Among these, we can highlight establishing healthcare as a state policy, incorporating more technology, improving infrastructure, making the system more efficient, increasing its quality, and changing the current regulations governing healthcare professionals. Throughout the Health Plan, we find numerous virtually undeniable points, beginning with the recognition that healthcare is a right to which all residents of Mendoza should have access and that the provincial government is primarily responsible for guaranteeing it (as is also the case with education and security). However, we believe it is important to point out that what will determine whether or not healthcare is a priority for any government is the amount of funding invested in it. That is why in this document we will examine healthcare investment in recent years, projections for 2025 based on current data, and how the situation in Mendoza compares to other provinces. In the final section, we will focus on the salary trends for provincial healthcare workers. We understand that healthcare is labor-intensive, and therefore it is essential that its workers receive adequate compensation to guarantee the efficiency and quality of the system.
